OnApril 26th, 2021, the official website of the 15th Electrical CupMath Modeling Competition announced the results for the competition.The competition was held between April 16th and April 19th, 2021, andsaw participation from many talented individuals and teams fromacross the world.
The15th Electrical Cup Math Modeling Competition was organized by theChina Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics, with the aim ofpromoting the development of mathematical modeling and encouraginginnovation in the field of mathematics. The competition was open toundergraduate and graduate students, as well as researchers andpractitioners from various industries.
Thecompetition required participants to solve a real-life problem usingmathematical modeling techniques. The problem statement for thecompetition was related to the optimization of a gas turbine engine.Participants were required to design a model to optimize theperformance of the engine, taking into account various factors suchas aerodynamics, heat transfer, and energy conversion.
Thecompetition received an overwhelming response from participants, withover 2,500 teams from 26 countries and regions registering for thecompetition. Of these, 25 teams were selected to compete in the finalround of the competition.

-Third Prize: Team 0311 from Virginia Commonwealth University, UnitedStates
-Meritorious Winner: Team 2421 from University of Science andTechnology of China, China
-Meritorious Winner: Team 1715 from University of MassachusettsAmherst, United States
Thewinning teams were awarded cash prizes and certificates ofachievement for their outstanding performance in the competition.
